The sale of Midtjylland Airport has been completed
The family-owned investment company HEARTLAND A/S is now the owner of Midtjylland Airport in Karup. The deal has finally been finalized.
After six decades of joint municipal ownership between nine municipalities, the board of directors of Midtjylland Airport yesterday entered into the final agreement on the sale of the airport
to the investment company HEARTLAND A/S. On May 15, a conditional purchase agreement was entered into, which states, among other things, that the new owner must
continue to operate domestic routes between Karup and Copenhagen as long as the route is profitable.
On behalf of our region, we are pleased that the agreement has been finalized. We believe that this is the right thing to do if the airport's continued operation and development are to be ensured, says the now former
chairman of the Midtjylland Airport board, Viborg mayor Ulrik Wilbek (V).
Facts about Midtjyllands Lufthavn
- Karup Airport was established in 1965
- Since the local government reform on 1 January 2007, the airport has been owned by: Viborg, Herning, Holstebro, Skive, Silkeborg, Ringkøbing-Skjern, Struer, Lemvig and Ikast-Brande municipalities
- The airport serves both civil, ambulance and military aircraft
- The purchase price for Midtjyllands Lufthavn has been announced at 22.55 mio DKK.
